Full-time 3 days ago Full Job Description JOB The City of Brentwood is seeking a dynamic human resources professional to join the Human Resources team.
The individual selected for this position will have a wide range of expertise in human resources management experience necessary to manage functional areas along with a proven record of accomplishments and success.
The Human Resources Manager will be a working manager responsible for various aspects of the City's Human Resources functional areas, which may include recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, workforce training and development, performance management, on boarding, and benefits administration.
The successful candidate will serve a 12-month probationary period.
Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources/Risk Manager, the Human Resources Manager will be an instrumental strategic partner to support the department's customer-focused approach that fosters trust and collaboration.
With a department of seven, six full-time and one limited service staff, the Human Resources Department's mission is to deliver exceptional service and support to the organization.
The goal is to attract, motivate, and retain the best-qualified employees whose diversity and skills contribute to and sustain the City as a quality organization.
The successful individual will have a minimum of five years of increasingly responsible human resources experience including two years of administrative and supervisory responsibility.
Municipal experience is highly desirable.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience Guidelines - Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education/Training:
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in human resources, business administration, public administration, or related field.
Experience:
Five years of increasingly responsible human resources experience including two years of administrative and supervisory responsibility.
License or Certificate:
Possession of an appropriate driver's license may be required.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, Human Resources Management Certification, California Public Employers Labor Relations Association Certification in Labor Relations, and/or Society of Human Resources Management - Senior Certified Professional are desirable.

Review of applications for minimum qualifications for the position and to ensure all materials have been submitted.
Panel Board Interview - Applicants possessing these requirements and the most relevant qualifications, determined by the City, will be invited to a panel board interview tentatively scheduled for the week of March 27th, 2023.
All applicants that pass the panel interview will be placed on the eligible list which is good for at least 6 months and may be extended up to an additional 18 months.
This eligible list will be used by the City of Brentwood to fill all current and future openings in this classification as long as the list is active.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
